6.8/10

I recently stayed at the Golden Tree Hotel and while it had a few appealing aspects, such as its charming atmosphere and friendly staff, there were several issues that marred my experience. The location was convenient for exploring the city, but some features left much to be desired, like the inconsistent cleanliness and the uncomfortable beds. Overall, I would characterize my stay as mixed. 😟

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was quite dusty, and the bed was uncomfortably hard, which affected my sleep. The shower design was awkward for taller individuals, as I struggled to fit comfortably. Additionally, the lack of basic amenities like tea and coffee in the room was disappointing.
Service
6.0
The staff were generally friendly and helpful, but my experience at check-in was overshadowed by a lack of clarity regarding room amenities and the parking situation.
Location
7.0
The distance from the hotel to the city center was reasonable, about a 10-minute walk. This made it easy to access attractions without being in the noisy heart of the tourist areas. However, the area itself felt a bit overshadowed by the noise from the busy road nearby.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast had a decent selection, though the quality was hit or miss, particularly with coffee. The fun pancake machine was a nice touch but more fresh options would have enhanced the experience.
Facilities
5.0
While there were basic facilities available, including parking options, my room's refrigerator didn't work properly. The gym had no windows, making it feel a bit claustrophobic. I also felt that the hotel could use some updating.

My stay at the Golden Tree Hotel in Bruges had its highs and lows. The staff was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to assist me, creating a pleasant atmosphere. However, the room I stayed in had some issues with cleanliness and maintenance, which dampened my experience a bit. Still, the charming breakfast room and the variety offered at breakfast were definite highlights of my visit.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious and cozy, yet it had issues with cleanliness and lacked some modern comforts like shampoo and ample storage. I also faced some noise disturbances from neighboring rooms, which affected my sleep.
Service
9.0
The staff's friendliness and helpfulness made a notable impression, as they provided maps and suggestions for dining, which I greatly appreciated.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location was ideal for exploring Bruges, being just a short 10-15 minute walk to the main market square while still being away from the noise of the tourist-heavy areas.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection, including a unique pancake-making machine, which added a fun twist to the meal.
Facilities
6.0
While the hotel had its charm and historical features, some areas showed wear and tear that needed attention, which impacted the overall facilities experience.

7.0/10

I had a pleasant stay at the Golden Tree Hotel, appreciating its welcoming atmosphere and convenient location. The breakfast was a highlight, with a variety of choices including a fun pancake-making machine, though I found some aspects of my room lacking in comfort. The clean and charming interiors added to the overall experience, but the lack of amenities in my room was a downside.

Rooms
7.0
My room was refurbished, modern, and clean, though it lacked a few comforts like shampoo and better privacy in the bathroom area. Despite the charming decor, I felt some functionalities could be improved.
Service
9.0
The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, making my stay enjoyable and stress-free. They went out of their way to assist me when I needed help.
Location
10.0
It's an ideal location just a short walk from the Market Square and chocolate shops, making it easy to explore Bruges without being right in the hustle and bustle.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and I loved the beautiful breakfast room with its charm. However, the hot food options could have been better maintained.
Facilities
7.0
While the hotel has beautiful common areas and was well-maintained, some amenities in my room were minimal, and the lack of a bar made the ambiance feel a bit unsocial at times.

5.2/10

My stay at the Golden Tree Hotel was a mixed experience. The location was fantastic, just a short walk to the city center, but several aspects fell short. I found the staff to be friendly, yet there were significant issues with room comfort and maintenance that really impacted my stay.

Rooms
5.0
The room was quite spacious, but I experienced several discomforts. The mattress was not very comfortable, which affected my sleep. Plus, the shower didn’t work effectively, and there was limited storage space. I expected much better for a 'delux' room.
Service
5.0
While I appreciated the friendliness during the check-in process, my overall experience with the staff was underwhelming. There were times when they seemed dismissive regarding my concerns, and I had to clarify the amenities I had booked.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is truly one of its best features. It was less than a five-minute walk to the central square, making it easy to explore Bruges. Being close to major attractions was a real plus.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast offerings were decent, though I wouldn't say they were excellent. The room itself was lovely, adding to the dining experience. I think the variety could definitely be improved, but it was satisfying overall.
Facilities
5.0
There were some issues regarding accessibility that I found frustrating. Even with lifts, there were still multiple stairs, which made it challenging for those with mobility difficulties. It was evident that the building had some charm, but it lacked practical considerations.

7.4/10

I recently stayed at the Golden Tree Hotel for three nights, and I appreciated its great location just a short walk from Bruges' city center. The staff were very helpful, assisting with train timetables and maps. However, I did notice a slightly musty smell in the corridors, and the bed was a bit harder than I prefer (but that's subjective). Overall, it was a decent stay primarily due to the convenient location and value for money.

Rooms
8.0
My standard double room was clean and spacious, featuring a lovely shower. While the size was good, the decor could make it feel smaller at times. The mattress was on the firm side, which might not suit everyone, but I managed to sleep fine.
Service
9.0
The hotel staff impressed me with their helpfulness. They went out of their way to print train schedules and offer local advice, contributing to a pleasant overall experience.
Location
9.0
This hotel is brilliantly located! It took me only about 10 minutes to walk into the central old town, and there were some fantastic dining options nearby. Plus, I appreciated being just a 15-minute stroll from the train station.
Dining
9.0
Breakfast was a highlight of my stay, with a good spread that included fresh pastries and options catering to different dietary needs. I also found the pancake-making machine to be a fun touch (who doesn't love pancakes?).
Facilities
7.0
While the hotel had lovely decor and maintained a charming atmosphere, some common areas had limited amenities (like tea and coffee) in the room. The peaceful courtyard was a nice place to relax, though.
